Marama Cup: Namosi crowned champions after defeating Suva 34-24

Namosi are the champions of the Subrails Marama Cup 2025 after defeating Suva 34-24 in the final.

The Namosi side were too good against the capital side.

Suva started strong, scoring the first try to Teresia Matea in the 6th minute to give them a 7-0 lead.

Namosi responded with tries to Rusila Nagasau and Ivamere Rokowati to give them a 12-7 lead.

Namosi continued to put pressure on Suva but their defence held on, before countering with a brilliant play sending Livia Naidei for the try line.

Meanwhile, Namosi rallied and scored another two tries through Rokowati and Josivini Neihamu to put Namosi in a 24-14 lead at halftime.

Naidei scored her second try in the second half to close the gap but Namosi kept the pressure on and managed to scored another two tries from Filomena Niulele.

Varitema Adi kept Suva's hopes alive, scoring from a brilliant play to close the gap, but it was too little too late.

In other matches today, Naitasiri will take on Nadi at 1pm in the U20 final and Naitasiri will face Malolo at 3pm in the Skipper Cup final.
