Manoa Malani has been taken in by police after he was seen protesting with his wife Veronica Malani and a few others against the Acting Prime Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum today at their residence in Flagstaff.

Veronica Malani told fijivillage they did this because their permit application for a march from Government House to Albert Park today was declined by Police.

In their application, the Malani family had said that it was a march for protest against Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

Malani says they then decided to do a protest in their compound this morning.

She says straight after that, a van, 2 twin cabs and another vehicle full of police officers arrived and told her husband that they were going to take him in.

We are still awaiting confirmation from Police on why he was taken in.

Meanwhile the Director of Public Prosecutions had earlier decided that no charges will be laid against Sayed-Khaiyum after Veronica Malani alleged that he was involved in two bombing incidents in 1987.
