Liverpool star Sadio Mane scored a 97th minute winner as Senegal opened their Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a 1-0 win over Zimbabwe this morning.
Mane scored from the penalty spot after a Zimbabwe defender had handled the ball inside the box.
Senegal who are one of the favorites for the tournament were missing the services of several players including captain Kalidou Koulibaly and Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy because of COVID cases.
In other matches this morning, Guinea beat Malawi 1-0 while Morocco defeated Ghana 1-0.
