An unemployed man who tried to set fire at Totogo Police Station on the 21st of September, 2023 has been charged and will appear in the Suva Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime Mesake Waqa says the man was released from St Giles on Thursday and taken into custody.

ACP Waqa says after being formally interviewed, he was charged with one count of Attempt to Commit Arson, two counts for Damaging Property and one count of Criminal Intimidation.

It is alleged that the man lit a fire right across the road leading to the police station, and two vehicles were also parked in close proximity of the fire.

He then allegedly threw a bottle of fuel into the police station.
