A 65-year-old man from Tailevu who raped his 6-year-old grand nephew has been sentenced to 11 years imprisonment by High Court Judge Justice Riyaz Hamza.
The incident had occurred on the 20th of December 2016.
Justice Hamza told the man that he had breached the boy's trust as he had considered him as his grandfather.
He said the boy was 6 and the man was 64 at the time of the incident with a 58-year difference between them.
Justice Hamza said that the man had exposed the innocent mind of a child to sexual activity at such a tender age.
