Man who lied about having COVID-19 to be sentenced on Thursday

A man who gave false information to a nurse at the CWM Hospital that he had COVID-19 will be sentenced on Thursday.

Simione Nakuna Junior is charged with one count of false information to public servant and he had pleaded guilty to the charge.

According to the charge particulars, Nakuna Junior on the 25th of February this year told a staff nurse at the CWM Hospital that his name was Simione Miller.

He had also told the nurse that he had travelled from Japan and had contracted COVID-19 knowing that the said information to be false and intending to cause the staff nurse to act on the false information.
