Man who allegedly raped step-daughter on several occasions remanded in custody

A 45-year-old man who allegedly raped his step-daughter on several occasions between 2017 and 2018 has been remanded in custody by the Lautoka Magistrates Court.

He has been charged with 20 counts of rape.

Police say the girl reported the matter at the Lautoka Police Station last month.

They say the girl was 11-years old when the man allegedly started committing the offences on occasions when her mother was out of the house.

The girl informed a relative of the alleged incidents last month.

The case will be called again on the 8th of next month.
