Man who allegedly raped 16-year-old step-daughter remanded in custody

A 29-year-old man who allegedly raped his 16-year-old step daughter on several occasions between April 2019 and July this year has been remanded in custody by Nasinu Magistrate Sufia Hamza.

A Domestic Violence Restraining Order has also been issued against him.

The alleged offence took place at a recreational park where the man would take the girl.

He has been charged with one count each of attempted rape, rape and abduction of a young person under 18 years with intent to have sexual intercourse.

The case has been adjourned to the 7th of August and will be heard in the Suva High Court.
