The 18-year-old man who allegedly stabbed a man in Namuka Street, Samabula during an attempted robbery on Christmas Eve will take his plea on the 8th of March.

Timoci Matanimeke has been charged with one count of criminal trespass and one count of aggravated robbery.

However, the DPP lawyer says his charges are expected to be amended to one count each of murder, criminal trespass and aggravated robbery.

The DPP lawyer says they need more time to file the information.

High Court Judge, Justice Siainiu Bull has given the State 7 days to file and serve information and disclosures.

60-year-old Nitya Nand, who was admitted at the CWM Hospital following the violent incident in Samabula, died on the 8th of January.

Matanimeke allegedly entered Nand’s home and attempted to carry out a robbery and, in the process, used a knife to stab him.
