Man who allegedly caused the death of a taxi driver after a fight over parking space applies for bail

A 31-year-old man who allegedly caused the death of a taxi driver last month after a fight over parking space has applied for bail in the Suva High Court.

Raymon Lal who is charged with one count of manslaughter appeared before Justice Riyaz Hamza today.

The alleged incident occurred in Narere where Lal and another man were allegedly arguing with the victim over a truck which was parked in his driveway.

Lal had allegedly pushed the 49-year-old taxi driver who then landed on a pile of wood.

He was rushed to the Velelevu Health Centre where he was pronounced dead.

The case has been adjourned to the 4th October.
