Man sentenced to two years imprisonment for a count of aggravated burglary

A man who pleaded guilty to a count of aggravated burglary has been sentenced to two years imprisonment by Suva High Court, Judge Justice Daniel Goundar.

Apisai Takalaibau entered into a house in Lami whilst the owner was away overseas and stole assorted items to the total value of $2,950 on the 11th of January this year.

Takalaibau had informed the court that he was drunk, when he committed the offence.

Justice Goundar for mitigation considered that Takalaibau was a first offender and was remorseful of his actions.
