A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to 8 years imprisonment for a count of sexual assault and two counts of rape by the Labasa High Court.
Eliki Butadroka raped and sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl in a village in Macuata in July 2016.
Judge Justice Daniel Goundar stated that Butadroka lured the girl into the bushes where he raped her.
Justice Goundar says that the court has the duty to protect young girls from any form of sexual abuse.
