The 40-year-old man who was reported to have been swept away by strong currents while trying to cross the Wailoa River has returned home safely.
Police say that the man who is from Naqelewai Village managed to swim to safety and returned to the village in good health.
The incident occurred at about 10am yesterday when the man was returning home from his farm.
