Man remanded for allegedly killing his uncle

A 31-year-old man, charged with alleged murder of his uncle has been remanded in custody by the Suva Magistrates Court.

Petaia Sematunagauna, charged with a count of murder, appeared before Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne this afternoon.

On 13th September, Sematunagauna allegedly punched his uncle several times causing his death at their place in Namuka-i-Lau, Lami.

The matter has been transferred to the Suva High Court and will be called on the October 17th.

Sematunagauna will appear again before the Magistrates Court on October 8th to extend his warrant.

Police Prosecutor, Shailend Kumar objected to bail as Sematunagauna might interfere with witnesses.
