A 35-year-old man has pleaded guilty to one count of murder before High Court Judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe.
Waisea Motonivalu pleaded guilty to the murder of 46-year-old Jai Prasad in Lokia Landing, Rewa on the 31st of December last year.
Two other men, Niko Baleiwairiki and Eroni Raivani have pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Motonivalu had earlier pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery only but he also pleaded guilty to murder today.
He was earlier sentenced to nine years and seven months imprisonment for one count of aggravated robbery.
Another two people Eroni Raivani and Niko Baleiwairiki were also charged with one count of murder and one count of aggravated robbery and they pleaded not guilty to both charges.
It is alleged that the three men brutally assaulted the fisherman before stealing a 15hp outboard engine.
The case will be called again on the 23rd of this month.
