Firefighter Corey Comperatore who was killed during the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, died trying to protect his family.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro says Comperatore was one of the thousands of people who attended the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, part of Trump’s 2024 reelection effort.

Authorities have identified the gunman in yesterday’s attack as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was killed by Secret Service agents at the scene after the shooting.

The FBI is investigating the attack as an assassination attempt.

They are yet to identify a motive behind the assassination attempt.

The Governor says Comperatore was married and had two daughters.

One person was killed and two critically injured in the incident.

The former president was grazed by a bullet to the ear, leaving his face covered in blood.
