Man in court for allegedly defrauding FRCA

A resident of Ba was produced in court yesterday for allegedly trying to defraud the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority of more than $16,000.
Mohammed Irshad was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit a felony, one count of trying to obtain property on forged documents and five counts of uttering forged documents.
It is alleged between September and November 2008, Irshad conspired with one Mohammed Rizwan to commit a felony by trying to obtain $16,694.88 on a forged document namely FRCA VAT Return Application.
Irshad was granted bail and the matter is adjourned to 2nd April and will be called before Lautoka High court.
