A 48-year-old man who allegedly raped his 42-year-old wife on several occasions in a village in Tailevu appeared in the Nausori Magistrates Court this afternoon and has been remanded in custody.
The man has been charged with four counts of rape, one count of breach of domestic violence restraining order and one count of damaging property.
The alleged incidents happened in April this year.
Police Prosecutor Shelveen Deo Sharma objected to bail.
The matter has been transferred to Suva High Court which will be called on the 19th of this month.
