A man who raped his partner’s 12-year-old daughter in Nadi has been sentenced to 11 years and 11 months imprisonment by the Lautoka High Court.

The man was charged with 2 counts of rape and the incidents happened in 2016.

It was heard in court that the man and the girl’s mother were in a relationship for a long time.

While sentencing the man, Judge, Justice Chamath Morais says there was a gross breach of trust and the impact of the crime on girl was traumatic.
