A 21-year-old man appeared at the Lautoka Magistrates Court today for allegedly having sex with a girl under the age of 18-years.
The alleged incident happened in Banaras, Lautoka earlier this month.
Praneel Chand is charged with one count of defilement.
It was heard in court that the girl was 15-years-old at the time of the alleged incident.
He has been granted bail by the Lautoka Magistrates Court.
The accused was ordered to pay a cash bail of $100 and not to interfere with prosecution witnesses.
The matter has been adjourned to 26th February next year for the plea to be taken.
