A 26-year-old man from Ra allegedly stabbed his 39-year-old partner at an apartment complex in Suva last night.
The suspect allegedly stabbed his partner during a drinking party after a heated exchange.
Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre Coordinator, Shamima Ali has expressed her anger after the latest stabbing incident.
She says this is happening at a time when there is a lot of awareness on such issues as the 16 Days of Activism Against Violence Against Women is taking place.
She says people in society need to be held accountable and there is a need in the society to teach men to respect women.
Meanwhile, Ali is urging people to call the toll free number 1560 if they are a victim of domestic violence.
