A 43-year-old man who was allegedly seen beating his daughter in a viral video circulating on social media has been charged with Assault Causing Actual Bodily Harm, and has appeared in the Nausori Magistrates Court.

The video shows a man repeatedly hitting his daughter with a hose pipe and kicking her as well.

The young girl was later seen bleeding and getting consoled by a few women.

Police say the incident occurred on the 2nd of February, 2024.
