Majority of Monasavu landowners want Fa and Company to continue distributing their $52.8 million compensation instead of Native Land Trust Board (NLTB).
Isireli Fa said according to the judgment handed down by Justice Jerrard Winter in 2006, his company was tasked with distributing the compensation money to the landowners for 3 to 4 years, after which the landowners would make the choice whether to stay with the company or hand over to the NLTB to handle distributions.
Fa said they had a meeting last week with the landowners and according to him majority of them want his company to continue with the distributions.
Fa said he will assist the landowners to deal directly with the Fiji Electricity Authority (FEA) in future without any third party.
The court had ordered the FEA to pay $52.8 million in compensation to landowners within 99 years for the use of their land on which the Monasavu Dam is built.
