Major increase in crimes against women
It is time to assist the Police Force to fight against crime as there is an increase in the crime rate in the last quarter and significant increases in crimes against women and children in the country.

Police Commissioner Brigadier General Iowane Naivalurua has revealed during the Commissioner’s parade at the Suva foreshore this morning that there was a 118 percent increase in crime against women.

Furthermore, a 20 percent increase in crime against children was recorded in the last three months.

Naivalurua urged more than 700 Police officers that a more concerted effort needs to be taken to make Fiji safer for our women and children.

He said it is time to work with all the stakeholders to ensure that women and children are not in danger.
