Celebrating the birth anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati is not only for merry-making but also a step forward in learning his aspirations.

This has been highlighted by Arya Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji's Media Relations Officer, Kamlesh Arya, during the 200th birth anniversary celebration of Arya Samaj founder Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati at the DAV College in Nabua this morning.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Arya says it is a momentous occasion for the members as they will relive the teaching of Dayanand throughout the celebrations.

He says this is also where they will reflect and plan for future outcomes for their people and the communities.

Arya says that Dayanand worked hard to eliminate all forms of vices from the community such as child marriage, and emphasized the importance of education for girls.

He further says that they will continue to promote the values of Vedic priniples and the removal of all forms of violence.

Meanwhile, the foundation of the Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati Nagar Gate will be laid this evening to mark the 200th birth anniversary.

The Sabha has also organised a sports day for its members, where members and children from Lautoka, Nasinu and Central have gathered to participate in fun activities.
