The Suva High Court has found Congo national Kiala Henri Lusaka guilty of killing his wife in July 2019 in Service Street, Suva.

High Court Judge, Justice Kulatunga Mudiyanselage Gihan Himanshu Kulatunga says Lusaka knew very well what he was doing although he had some mental issues caused by substance abuse.

He says Lusaka was very disturbed and angry before the incident and was also a regular user of a substance which had an impact on his mental status.

A state witness had revealed in the murder trial that there were two coins on the dead wife's eyes and Lusaka was lying beside her.

The sentencing hearing will take place this Wednesday while Lusaka is expected to be sentenced this Friday.
