Police are investigating another incident where a statue of Lord Hanuman was removed from a place of worship in a private compound in Naduna, Labasa.

The incident allegedly occurred on Monday morning when the homeowner discovered the statue missing before his morning prayer.

He asked his brother to look for the statue, which was later found about 30 to 50 metres away from the compound, damaged.

Meanwhile, Police say a man was brought in for questioning and released in relation to the theft of a 70-year-old Lord Hanuman statue from Wailailai Kuti in Ba last week.

They say these are mostly opportunistic crimes.
