Live Tsunami Siren Test for Suva – Nausori corridor at 11am

The National Disaster Risk Management Office will be conducting live tsunami siren tests for the Suva – Lami corridor at 11am today.

They say this exercise is part of government’s continued commitment towards improving its state of readiness for any tsunami event and also to test the functionality of the sirens.

Locations of the sirens are a s follows:

• Water Authority of Fiji – Kinoya Sewerage Plant

• FINTEL – Vatuwaqa

• RFMF Officers Training School – Vatuwaqa

• USP Statham • USP Lower Campus

• USP Main Campus • Veiuto Primary School

• Government Training Centre – Nasese

• I-Taukei Trust Fund Board

• SCC Civic Car Park Rooftop

• Biosecurity – Suva Central

• Government Shipping Services – Walu Bay

• Lami Town

All thirteen sirens will be activated however no evacuation is required.
