Leaking pipe blamed for Laqere pothole chaos

Leaking pipe blamed for Laqere pothole chaos

Following serious concerns raised by drivers about a pothole along Kings Highway near the Laqere Market in Nasinu, the Fiji Roads Authority has confirmed that the issue was caused by a leaking pipe, which has now been repaired.

Drivers had told fijivillage News that the waterlogged pothole had been causing traffic congestion as far as 9 Miles in Nakasi.

They say this occurs every time it rains.

In response to questions, FRA says the issue was caused by a burst Water Authority of Fiji main.

They say WAF was informed.

WAF has this morning confirmed that the main has been repaired.

However, the road is yet to be sealed, and concerns remain that it is still disrupting the flow of traffic.

Questions have been sent to FRA. They are yet to respond.
