The Leadership Fiji Community Fund has provided assistance to the PPSEAWA Qoqa Greenhouse Project in Nagado Village.

Materials worth $6,000 from Vinod Patel have been delivered to Nagado Village and the women of the Mataqali Qoqa through this funding will build a Greenhouse for their income-generating project.

The President of PPSEAWA, Vive Liutaki realized the plight of the women in Nagado when COVID struck in 2020 with their small business of orchid flowers dying as a result of the closure of businesses around the country.

The women usually sell their orchids at the Nadi Market and to those who directly ordered from them and while in lockdown the women thought it was important to start planning and working on potting more orchid plants and to have a large greenhouse to prepare them for the opening of the Tourism and the Hotel Industry once Fiji's borders opened up.

Leadership Fiji Community Fund Secretary, Ioane Nawaikula has challenged the women that the orchid greenhouses should not be the only income-generating project for them but to also look to expand in various ways by becoming horticulturist.
