The defence lawyer for a man alleged to have murdered his wife has made an application in the Suva High Court to view the copy of the statement made by the woman before passing away.
It is alleged Tevita Deve assaulted his 21-year-old wife and murdered her by making her drink paraquat.
The alleged incident happened in a village in Ovalau in March 2018.
Deve is charged with one count of murder.
The case has been adjourned to the 23rd of this month.
The trial will be held in November.
