Escapee Deswhar Dinesh Dutt's lawyer has been charged for allegedly assisting him escape from lawful custody earlier this month.
Police Chief of operations, ACP Rusiate Tudravu has confirmed that the 33-year-old lawyer has been charged with one count of aiding the prisoner to escape and she remains in custody and will be produced at the Nadi Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Tudravu says that Dutt's wife has again been taken in for questioning for her alleged involvement in her husband's escape following new information gathered by the investigating team.
Tudravu adds that Police know that Deswhar Dinesh Dutt is being assisted and Police will not hesitate to arrest and charge anyone who is helping Dutt and are warning those doing so to stop or face the consequences.
