Lautoka football’s teenage forward Junior Kenny Dekedeke has become the talk of the town after scoring two brilliant goals against Navua in their Digicel Premier League clash last weekend.

Dekedeke who is from Drekeniwai in Cakaudrove, says sacrificing and working hard is the key to achieving what one wants in life.

He says not having a good financial background when growing up has been a struggle, however, his family taught him to never give up.

The 18 year old highlighted the difficulties he faces in trying to juggle training with school work, especially when he was preparing for the Year 12 external examination, but he is thankful to his coach and his father who always encourage him to keep going.

He was brought up in Varadoli, Ba, where he learnt the football skills with his friends before moving to Lovu Seaside in Lautoka, where he currently resides with his family.

The Year 12 student of Natabua High School came through the youth setup in Lautoka and featured in the Under 10, 14, 16 and 19 grades prior to making his senior team debut.

Meanwhile, Lautoka will not feature in round three of the Digicel Premier League due to players having national team commitments.
