The family of the late former Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase have announced that his book, Prisoner 302, will be launched on December 5th 2022.

Speaking on their facebook page, the late Qarase’s son, Laisenia Bale Qarase confirms they decided to launch the book on December 5th as it will be the 16th anniversary to the day when Qarase was removed as Prime Minister in the December 2006 coup.

One of the posts has the late Qarase saying “I dedicate 'Prisoner 302' to my wife, Leba, who inspired me to write this book and who stood by me throughout my ordeal, before the trial, during the trial and when I was incarcerated.”

Prisoner 302 details the life account of the late Laisenia Qarase.

His incarceration features prominently in the book, set against a backdrop of a political career and personal life.
