Landowners should get fair return - AG
Itaukei landowners should get a fair return for leasing out their land as the tenants should get security of land tenure.

In a recent conference, Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum highlighted that there were lease arrangements previously made where people were paying $2 as annual lease rental.

Sayed-Khaiyum said the protection for both the landowners and tenants is guaranteed in the 2013 Constitution and this will ensure that the landowners get a fair return.

The Attorney General also stressed that they want to ensure under the constitution that the current allocation of itaukei land will never go down.
