33-year-old Lambert Kuruvoli has been remanded by the Nadi Magistrates Court for allegedly importing and unlawfully possessing about 2.3 kilograms of methamphetamine.
It is alleged that on the 31st of January, Kuruvoli was found in possession of methamphetamine upon arrival from an international flight.
Police say officers from the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service deployed K9, and a search was conducted on him.
Fiji Revenue and Customs Service says Kuruvoli, who arrived on an international flight, was found with white substance concealed in various ways in his baggage which tested positive for methamphetamine during preliminary examination.
They say he was selected for full customs examination based on customs risk-based selectivity and during the examination, customs officers discovered food products and a backpack with false walls, both containing substances suspected of being methamphetamine.
The matter is adjourned to the 10th of this month.
