Wise Ezekiel Lagilevu has pleaded not guilty to one count of rape and one count of sexual assault.
It is alleged that he raped and sexually assaulted a woman in December in Suva last year.
However, he has pleaded guilty to a count of escaping from lawful custody and giving false information to a public servant.
Judge ,Justice Daniel Goundar told Lagilevu to consult his counsel about the guilty plea before he can take his guilty plea.
Lagilevu’s lawyer was not present in Court.
Lagilevu also has another alleged rape case before the court which happened in Lautoka.
He has been remanded in custody and the case will be called on the 10th June.
