Labasa women produce stellar performance to snatch Digicel Women’s IDC trophy from Ba

The Labasa women’s football side produced a stellar performance as they dismantled Ba 4-0 in the final of the Digicel Women’s IDC at the ANZ Stadium.

Lethal striker and national team rep Cema Nasau struck twice in the match while Stella Naivalulevu and Adi Anasimeci scored a goal each.

Labasa led 2-0 at half-time.

Tournament’s top goalscorer, Cema Nasau who scored 9 goals in the tournament has thanked her family for the support and also acknowledged her teammates for playing as a unit and giving her the opportunities to score.

Stella Naivalulevu, who scored Labasa’s opening goal in the final, says they never expected to win the competition but just wanted to give her best and make the people of Labasa proud.

Labasa finished the tournament undefeated.
