Nitin Chandra appeared in the Nasinu Magistrates Court on the 30th of November charged with one count of abuse of office and has been granted bail.

The alleged offence took place on 30th September 2020.

State Counsel Arieta Vaganalau informed the court that the first phase of disclosures have been served.

Resident Magistrate Vinti Prasad granted a non-cash bail of $1,000 and ordered Chandra not to reoffend while on bail.

Chandra has been also ordered not to interfere with prosecution witnesses, not to change his residential address without first informing the court and to surrender his travel documents to the court.

A stop departure order has also been issued against Chandra.

The matter has been adjourned to the 21st of December.
