More than 40 youths from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints planted more than 5,000 mangrove seedlings in Lami today with the theme light the world with love’.

Church member, Evalina Lavulavu says they want to instill in the heart of the youth the love for their country and the Lord by protecting the environment which is their future.

Lavulavu says they had planted more than 15,000 mangrove seedlings last year and could not plant anymore sooner because of restriction due to COVID-19.

She adds they only managed to get about five bags of the seedlings from the Ministry of Agriculture but they are planning to plant more as soon as they are able to get more seedlings.
