Korean Government provides $41,879 grant to assist 8 Fijian youth groups

The Korean Government has provided a boost to Fiji’s youth sector with a grant worth $41,879 that will assist 8 youth groups.

Minister for Youth and Sports, Parveen Bala says the grant assistance will assist in areas of positive youth development.

He says the 8 youth clubs that were successful in their bidding make up a total of 239 members.

The Minister has reassured the Korean Government that the recipients will make good use of this assistance and will improve livelihood of their community and create work opportunities.

Bala says this is a pilot project and he looks forward for their continued partnership and more assistance so that youths throughout the country can be assisted.

He further says the Government has ensured the youth sector is not only adequately funded but also better resourced with proper technical expertise.

Bala adds projects such as this are extremely important to ensure Fijian youth recover from the far reaching impacts of the pandemic.
