Former captain, Virat Kohli has announced his retirement from T20 cricket after India beat South Africa by seven runs in T20 World Cup final.

Kohli. in a post-match presentation says this was his last T20 World Cup and this is exactly what they wanted to achieve.

He is urging the next generation to step up.

Kohli was awarded Player of the Match, his 16th Player of the Match award - the most by any player.

In a glittering T20 career, Kohli scored 4,188 runs in 125 matches at an average of 48.7 scored at a strike rate of 137.04.

He is also the all-time highest run-scorer in T20 World Cups.
