The Kings Road near the 4 miles bridge is now open as the Fiji Roads Authority and Water Authority of Fiji have completed the sinkhole repair works.

The Water Authority of Fiji had earlier determined that majority of the sections of the wastewater pipe at Kings Road near the bridge had collapsed and was no longer safe.

WAF worked with the FRA to replace the entire section with approximately 24 metres of steel pipe.

WAF says a large amount of time was spent to safely navigate between buried utility services which are laid above the wastewater trunk main.
