The Kings Road near the 4-miles bridge is closed to all traffic due to a burst main and sinkhole.

The Fiji Roads Authority says it's an emergency closure that will allow them and the Water Authority of Fiji contractors to carry out urgent repair works.

They say as a precautionary measure, Kings Road will be fully closed between Nabua Roundabout and Centrepoint traffic lights.

Traffic will be diverted down through Ratu Dovi Road for people travelling to Suva.

For people travelling towards Nausori, they will need to go through Jerusalem Road or up Mead Road and down Khalsa Road.

The FRA and WAF teams have started excavation work from last night.

FRA says there is no time frame when the lanes will be restored to normal.
