King Tupou VI to officially take up role as USP Chancellor
King Tupou VI and his wife, Queen Consort Nanasipau’u Tuku’aho of Tonga enjoy a performance by the Tongan USP students.

A traditional welcoming ceremony was accorded to King Tupou VI and his wife, Queen Consort Nanasipau’u Tuku’aho of Tonga, at the Grand Pacific Hotel by students and staff of the University of the South Pacific.

The royal couple will officiate at the USP Graduation Ceremony this Thursday and Friday, and King Tupou VI’s position as the incoming Chancellor of the university will be formalised.

King Tupou VI and the Queen Consort arrived in the country last week, where they witnessed the rugby match between Fiji and Tonga during the Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup, where Fiji edged Tonga 32-10.
