Buckingham Palace says King Charles will resume public engagements next week after making encouraging progress in his cancer treatment.

It has been highlighted that he will not make a full return to his official engagements as the King and in the coming weeks he will undertake more external engagements.

His summer plans include a State visit, where he will host the Emperor and Empress of Japan.

The King's treatment began in February and there is no date given for its conclusion while the type of cancer has also not been disclosed.
