The Kidney Foundation of Fiji is working with other stakeholders to allow organ donations of those who pass away in any road accident to those who are in need of organs at the different hospitals in Fiji.
Administrator of the Kidney Foundation of Fiji Pushp Chand said the proposed organ transplant law has been part of their agenda from last year and they are still trying to get it through to cabinet.
Chand said families of those who pass away in any road accident whether it is a passenger or driver, will make the decision on whether to go ahead with the transplant or otherwise.
He said they are working with the Land Transport Authority and the Ministry of Health.
Health Minister Jone Usamate has refused to make any comments on the issue.
LTA said they are aware of this proposal but they are not part of any discussions.
