Kese villagers in Yasawa safe after TC Mal passes them - Police Post Officer

People of Kese Village in Yasawa are safe after Tropical Cyclone Mal passed them with little damage in the past 24 hours.

Kese Community Post Officer, Pritesh Nadan says he was thankful that overnight there was little destruction by the strong winds.

Nadan says there is no report received from the community of any injuries, landslides, fallen trees, house damage and flash flooding.

He says the continuing wind has stopped as well compared to yesterday.

The officer says from 11pm to 2am this morning they experienced strong winds.

He adds only coconut leaves and branches of trees have fallen.
