27 years after Meli, Vili and Vesi Rauluni were the first trio of brothers to represent Fiji in the 7s Series, three more brothers will be playing for Fiji in the first leg of the 2019-2020 HSBC 7s Series.

Fiji Airways National 7s Head Coach, Gareth Baber has named debutant Kavekini Tabu alongside his elder brothers, Sevuloni Mocenacagi and Isoa Tabu.

The brothers also played for Fiji in the Oceania 7s.

The other team members includes Josua Vakurunabili,  Apenisa Cakaubalavu, Captain, Paula Dranisinukula, Meli Derenalagi, Vilimoni Botitu, Waisea Nacuqu, Jerry Tuwai, Alasio Naduva, Aminiasi Tuimaba, Napolioni Bolaca and Terio Tamani.

Baber has managed to keep the majority of his 2019 Series winning combination together enabling the team to strengthen their game ahead of a major year ahead.

Amongst the experienced players, Kavekini Tabu has earned his debut inclusion in the touring squad.

Baber says the explosive forward has put his hand up in the pre-season and will add plenty of firepower in the team.

Fiji is pooled with France, Argentina and Japan.

Fiji’s first pool match is against Japan at 4.02am next Friday, Fiji will then take on Argentina at 10.04pm the same night and they will face France in their last match at 4.02am next Saturday.

Barring any upsets, Fiji is likely to meet South Africa, England or Kenya in the quarter-final, they can face South Africa or France in the semi-final and is likely to meet New Zealand or USA in the final of the Dubai 7s.
