Karavaki says he has said nothing seditious in parliament
Opposition MP Semesa Karavaki

Speaker of Parliament Doctor Jiko Luveni asked Opposition MP Semesa Karavaki to withdraw his statement in parliament when he said that the end of the government is near.

However Karavaki said he had said nothing that was seditious after a government MP asked the Speaker that he should withdraw the statement.

Karavaki made the comments while debating on the bill to amend the Sugar Industry Act.

He said the government needs to reassess its reform process.

Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum later raised the question on why some opposition parliamentarians are saying that the government will not last.
